How to choose a jointer V-ribbed drive belt

In order to select the most correct drive belt for your electric planer, you need to provide:

  • belt length (measured using our method)
  • belt width (approximately)
  • number of "streams" (longitudinal protrusions on the belt)
  • distance between streams (in some cases)

The length of the belt should be measured as follows:

  • wrap a "belt dummy" (not a stretchable thread, as in the photo) around both pulleys inside the groove. Mark the intersection of the ends of the thread with a thin marker and measure the length of the thread between the markers exactly in mm
  • If the belt is torn, its length (not recommended)

With these numbers in hand, find similar belts in our belt list
If you did not find it, send us a request using the contacts
