Description

Ferrino Fitzroy Recco 22 Orange is a small backpack with great functionality. This model has been restyled, has lost a little weight and has been equipped with an improved suspension system. The backpack is still designed for fans of freeride, ski touring and mountaineering. Its distinctive feature is the use of RECCO ® technology, which allows search services to facilitate the search for climbers during avalanches. Despite its compact size, there is space for skis or a snowboard, snowshoes, an avalanche shovel, an avalanche probe, ice axes, trekking poles and a hydration system. Most of this and much more equipment can be hung on the backpack from the outside thanks to compression straps, additional straps, loops and fasteners. The interior of the Ferrino Fitzroy 22 Orange has a compartment for a drinking system, and is otherwise also organized to accommodate mountaineering equipment. An internal pocket with a carabiner for keys, two side mesh pockets and a pair of pockets on the belt provide enough space for storing essentials. A carabiner with a whistle is used on the chest strap. The hip belt is fixed with an aluminum buckle, which is more reliable and convenient for unfastening, especially in thick winter gloves.

With 150 years of experience in the production of equipment for tourism, Ferrino does not rest on its laurels, continuing to dictate even higher standards of tourist equipment. For this purpose, in 1994 a special high-altitude laboratory was built to test products in real conditions. For decades, the company has been cooperating with outstanding climbers (such as Reinhold Messner), researchers, cavers who, using Ferrino products, conquered all the highest points of the planet, crossed 20,000 km of Antarctica on foot at extremely low temperatures down to -70 ° C, descended for 80 minutes into the very depths of the earth, into the Cueva de los Cristales cave, where at a temperature of + 58 ° C and 100% humidity a person could not previously stay for more than 20 minutes even in special equipment. Ferrino is rightfully proud of its achievements and ensures the quality and functionality of its products at the highest level.

ENSA (École nationale du ski et de l'alpinisme). Ferrino is the official supplier of the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering, located in Chamonix (France). This organization is engaged in the support and development of mountain sports, as well as the training of mountain guides, ski instructors and mountain rescuers. The Fitzroy 22 Orange backpack is an official ENSA product.

Design features:

Air Convector Tech Back is a well-ventilated, ergonomic mesh backpack back. The polyurethane foam base in the form of pillows has double the rigidity, and, at the same time, provides high air permeability. Ventilation channels and large mesh cells easily let fresh air to the back and remove excess moisture. The frame is partially removable. The back is complemented by a hip belt to distribute the load and ensure stability when walking. The belt is made of similar materials.

Hollow Back System - a suspension system, the main advantage of which is to provide a high level of ventilation of the back, shoulder straps and hip belt, thanks to the presence of through ventilation holes in the soft corrugated lining made of EVA foam, as well as thanks to the use of an outer shell made of durable, highly breathable mesh.

RECCO ® (advanced rescue technology) is an avalanche rescue system used by mountain rescue services at more than eight hundred winter resorts around the world, and the number of such resorts increases every year. RECCO ® technology allows for the rapid determination of the exact location of a victim using harmonic radar. The system consists of two parts: RECCO ® detectors, which are used by organized rescue teams, and RECCO ® reflectors, which are built into equipment, footwear or clothing. During the search, the detector emits and records a signal reflected from the reflector. The detection system operates at a distance of up to 200 m in the air and up to 30 m under snow. The advantage of this system is that the reflector does not require maintenance, switching on/off or other actions in the event of an accident, does not require power and has an unlimited service life.

Side Compression - the side compression straps of the backpack can be used to attach equipment such as a camping mat, trekking poles, skis to the sides of the backpack, which is very important when the internal space of the backpack is already occupied. Also, the compression straps can be used for their intended purpose to tighten and reduce the external volume of the packed backpack. This backpack is equipped with two straps combined with front holders.

Front Holders - a front mount specially designed for this backpack is a long strap that wraps around the skis placed behind the back on the front of the backpack and is fixed on the hip belt of the backpack. The presence of two additional straps supplied in the kit allows you to fix the skis even more securely, fasten clothes, rope or other necessary equipment.

Removable Straps - the backpack comes complete with two long straps ending in three-slot plastic Duraflex® straps. The straps are used to attach equipment such as a snowboard, alpine or cross-country skis, snowshoes. The straps can be fixed to specially designed loops or straps of the backpack, as well as to any other backpack straps of suitable width.

Ice-axe holders (2) - ice axe holders are placed in the upper and lower parts of the mountaineering backpack facade and are a combination of lower ties with straps that allow you to change the length of the strap and upper elastic ties with stoppers. Such holders allow you to securely fix ice axes and not load the interior of the backpack with them. If necessary, the holders can also be used to attach trekking poles. This backpack has two pairs of ice axe mounts combined with trekking pole mounts

Trekking poles holders (2) - holders for trekking poles are placed in the upper and lower parts of the façade of the trekking backpack and are a combination of lower ties with straps that allow you to change the length of the strap and upper elastic ties with stoppers . Such holders allow you to securely fix trekking poles and not load the interior space of the backpack with them. This backpack has two pairs of removable fasteners for trekking poles, combined with fasteners for ice axes.

Inside Holders - the so-called internal holders are two narrow straps with a Velcro textile fastener and a wide pocket located on the sides of the backpack's back from the inside. These holders are used to securely fix such equipment as folding trekking poles, an avalanche probe, an avalanche shovel, an axe, etc. inside. It is especially convenient to use internal holders when the terrain or the difficulty of the hike do not allow you to place attachments outside the backpack.
Gear Loops - Special large loops on the backpack, designed for hanging additional equipment. The loops are made of durable nylon straps, folded in half and stitched to ensure greater reliability, and most importantly, ease of hanging and quickly removing equipment such as flasks, cups, mountaineering quickdraws, mountaineering carabiners, etc. They are placed inside the backpack.

Compatible H2O Bag - this backpack is compatible with and can be equipped with a branded Ferrino hydration system with a capacity of two liters, or any other drinking system of the corresponding capacity. The backpack has the necessary compartment for placement and a loop for attaching a drinking system, as well as all the necessary holes and clamps for fixing the drinking tube.

Chest Strap Whistle - instead of the usual fastex, a fastex with a built-in whistle is placed on the chest strap of the backpack. The whistle allows you to give identification signals to determine the location, as well as give audible SOS. In extreme conditions, the voice is not always strong enough to give a signal of the required volume, and the whistle, which is very convenient, is always at hand.

SOS instructions - inside the backpack there is a patch or a table with instructions on the rules for visual or sound transmission of international distress signals, as well as on signaling that assistance is not required. The instructions provide rules for signaling aircraft, mountain rescue services, as well as emergency service phone numbers in Europe and the USA.

Helmet Holder Compatible - this backpack is equipped with a special system of four loops adapted for fixing a mountaineering helmet or a bicycle helmet. The four-point helmet mount is not included in the kit of this backpack, but can be purchased separately. At the same time, the helmet or hard hat can be fixed to the front with their own fixing straps.
