The signal is based on an atomic clock powered by the Cesium 133 atom and is under the jurisdiction of the Physics and Technology Federal Institute in Braunschweig (Germany). The error is less than one second in one million years. The exact time transmitted by the DCF77 transmitter is official in Germany. The transmitter is located in Mainflingen - 30 km from Frankfurt am Main and with its radius (about 1500 km) covers almost all of Europe and part of Ukraine. Please note that in the eastern regions of Ukraine the signal reception is unstable.

In order to obtain accurate readings and extend the life of your sensor, we recommend that you install it in a protected location to avoid moisture and direct sunlight. Do not wrap the sensor in a plastic bag. We recommend installing it outside on the outside of a window as shown in the picture below or in any other suitable location.
