Due to their optical design, short-focus refractors with high aperture ratio have significant chromatic aberration (color distortion). To eliminate this undesirable effect and achieve an image without chromatic aberration in this model, the manufacturer used quite expensive but effective low-dispersion ED glass in the lens design. High quality of image transmission is also guaranteed by the excellent quality of the optics coating. All elements of the optical designs of Bresser Messier telescopes are made of glass, which is coated with an antireflective coating in several layers. This is what allows you to get bright and clear images of the observed objects with the correct color rendering, both in visual observations and in astrophotography. One of the latest improvements of the company, implemented in this telescope, is the new Hexafoc focuser with an internal diameter of 2.5". Thanks to this solution, it was possible to avoid possible vignetting (cutting) of the image when working with wide-field two-inch eyepieces. In addition, attention was paid to improving the smoothness of the movement and stability of the focusing system itself. The telescope kit includes a long-focus eyepiece SuperPlossl SPL26 mm and a large optical viewfinder.
The telescope is equipped with a German equatorial EXOS-1 mount and a stable steel tripod. The tripod is additionally rigidified by a metal shelf for accessories, which has holes for 1.25” and 2” eyepieces. The tripod height is adjustable, which allows the telescope to be adapted to the height of the observer. The EXOS-1/EQ4 mount has a clear design and control system and is capable of carrying a tube weighing up to 7 kg. The fine movement mechanisms on both axes are equipped with flexible, comfortable handles for comfortable control of the telescope in any position of the observer. The mount can be supplemented with a separately purchased electric drive for the right ascension axis and a pole finder to track the daily movement of luminaries without the participation of an observer during visual observations or photography.
