The need for a compact, yet durable and securely protected sight that does not disturb the balance of the weapon led Hawke Optics to create the Hawke Spot-On 1x25 (Weaver) collimator sight. Today, this is truly one of the most compact closed-type collimators, which has two mounts on the sighting bar in the basic package. One mount has a high profile, a quick-release mechanism, and will be very useful for installation on hunting rifles or automatic rifles. The second mount is low-profile and is intended primarily for mounting on pistol sighting bars. No less important is the fact that the diameter of the aiming point is only 4 MOA, due to which small and medium targets are less overlapped during aimed shooting at medium distances. Among other advantages of the Hawke Spot-On 1x25 (Weaver) collimator sight for fast shooting at short and medium distances: fast target acquisition, fixed focus, no parallax from 9 m, unlimited eye relief and a virtually unlimited field of view. Hawke Spot-On 1x25 (Weaver) sights have a shockproof, waterproof, nitrogen-filled design, making them recommended for use not only with pistols, but also with automatic weapons, smoothbore rifles up to 12 gauge inclusive, and spring-piston air rifles with an initial bullet velocity of up to 375 m/s.
Despite the fact that the field of view of collimator sights is practically unlimited, and the shooter can "track" the target with both eyes and not so much depend on the quality of optics, as when shooting from optical sights, Hawke has nevertheless paid considerable attention to the optical properties of the sight. All optical surfaces are covered with a 25-layer anti-reflective coating, which, of course, affects the quality of the image and contributes to more accurate shooting, especially in low visibility conditions.
The sight is made in a shockproof, waterproof, aluminum case, which reliably protects the optics from unwanted damage during impacts, falls, powerful recoil and difficult weather conditions.
The aiming mark is a red illuminated dot with adjustable brightness for convenient day, evening and night shooting. If you forget to turn off the backlight, automatic switching to standby mode will save battery capacity. The sight enters standby mode if there is no movement in space for 5 minutes. At the same time, the minimum power consumption to maintain the sight in combat readiness continues. Therefore, at the end of shooting, it is necessary to turn off the sight.
The sight is equipped with two removable mounts for installation on Weaver/Picatinny type sighting rails. The high-profile mount has a quick-release mechanism, as it is intended for installation on rifles, where the collimator sight can be periodically replaced with an optical one. The low-profile mount is intended for installation on pistols, and for this reason it does not have a quick-release mechanism, but requires fixation with a tool. Closed vertical and horizontal adjustment drums allow finger adjustments without a special tool, and have a click value of 1 MOA.
For convenience, the sight is equipped with removable plastic covers that completely cover the eyepiece and lens during transportation.
