Description

The need for a compact and virtually weightless sight that does not disturb the balance of the weapon led Hawke Optics to create the Hawke MRD1x WP Digital Control 3 MOA (Weaver) collimator sight. Today, this is truly one of the lightest and most compact open collimators, already equipped with a mount for a weapon, unlike many other collimator sights of this class. No less important is the fact that the diameter of the aiming point is only 3 MOA, due to which small and medium targets are not covered when shooting at medium distances. Among other advantages of the Hawke MRD1x WP Digital Control 3 MOA (Weaver) collimator sight for fast shooting at short and medium distances: fast target acquisition, fixed focus, no parallax from 9 m, unlimited eye relief and a virtually unlimited field of view. Hawke MRD1x WP Digital Control 3 MOA (Weaver) sights have a reliable, trouble-free design, which is why they are recommended for use not only with pistols, but also with automatic weapons, smoothbore rifles up to 12 gauge inclusive, and spring-piston air rifles with an initial bullet velocity of up to 320 m/s.

Despite the fact that the field of view of collimator sights is practically unlimited, and the shooter can "track" the target with both eyes and not so much depend on the quality of optics, as when shooting from optical sights, Hawke has nevertheless paid considerable attention to the optical properties of the sight. All optical surfaces are covered with a 25-layer anti-reflective coating, which, of course, affects the quality of the image and contributes to more accurate shooting, especially in low visibility conditions.

The sight is made in a shockproof, waterproof, aluminum case, which reliably protects the optics from unwanted damage during impacts, falls, powerful recoil and difficult weather conditions.

The aiming mark is a red illuminated dot with adjustable brightness for convenient day, evening and night shooting. If you forget to turn off the backlight, automatic power off will help save battery power.

The sight is equipped with a removable mount for installation on Weaver/Picatinny type sighting rails. Open drums for entering vertical and horizontal corrections have a click value of 1 MOA. Two correction input fixing screws are located on the rear panel of the sight. Before entering corrections, it is recommended to unlock these screws using the Allen key supplied in the kit.

For convenience, the sight is equipped with a removable plastic cover that completely covers the sight during transportation.

A collimator sight allows you to aim a weapon at a target using a luminous dot-mark, observing the object with both eyes open, which is very convenient when shooting at a moving target. You simultaneously observe the target and aim the weapon at it. Shooting while hunting is simplified, and most importantly, it becomes more accurate than with a conventional mechanical sight. Collimator sights significantly simplify and speed up the aiming process, since it is only necessary to combine the mark and the target. The aiming mark does not cover the target. These advantages make collimator sights especially attractive for people with no shooting experience and an almost ideal sight for pneumatic, firearms and throwing weapons of medium and close range.
