Description

The updated Hawke Airmax sights combine a new modern compact design and the best advantages of the previous series, namely incredible resistance to the destructive recoil of spring-piston pneumatics of the Magnum class and high-quality optics with an extended field of view. This series is specially designed for air rifle shooters. Both a hunter and a target shooter require a reliable sight with certain settings in order to get the most out of their weapon. Airmax sights are equipped with special rangefinder reticles, allowing for accurate shooting at various distances. This is also facilitated by the parallax adjustment on the lens.

The quality of the optics of this series of sights, regardless of the diameter of the objective lens, is at its best. All optical surfaces of the sight (achromatic objective lens, eyepiece, inverting system) are covered with 16 layers of high-quality anti-reflective coating of a green shade. As a result, the image transmitted by the sight is contrasting and bright. With a wide-angle optical scheme, this sight allows you to get a field of view 20% larger compared to standard optics. Observing, targeting, aiming and shooting becomes much more comfortable.

The shockproof body is made in the form of a monolithic aluminum tube, in which all optical elements are securely fixed. The design copes well with both the multi-vector recoil of spring-piston pneumatics and the recoil of large-caliber rifled and smooth-bore firearms. The body is covered with a double-sided matte black anodizing. The coating on the outside does not wear off and prevents scratches. Inside, the coating diffuses light and does not allow glare and reflections to spread. The zoom ring has a rubber profiled knurling, making the process of changing the magnification even more convenient and accurate. The body is sealed, protected from water ingress and filled with dry nitrogen to prevent fogging of the optics from the inside when the temperature changes. The lens and eyepiece have a thread that allows you to attach additional accessories, such as sunscreens, diffusing hoods and flip-up type covers.

Parallax adjustment is made with a wide ring on the objective in the range from 9.1 meters to infinity. The objective is spring-loaded with a powerful spring, which is a mechanism for compensating for recoil. For quick focusing on the target, the Fast Focus focusing system is provided on the eyepiece.

Low-profile vertical and horizontal adjustment drums are equipped with a special beryllium spring, preventing the aiming grid from "drifting". The drums have a click value of 0.25 MOA. They are made similar to tactical ones, which allows you to enter adjustments during shooting. At the same time, they are hidden under low aluminum covers.

AMX is a special rangefinder reticle developed by Hawke Optics for airgun shooters, it is an improved Mil Dot reticle. The main difference from the usual Mil Dot aiming mark is that in the lower part of the field of view there are additional intersections in the form of horizontal lines of different lengths, marking half a mil. This allows for more accurate shooting at long distances, taking into account the wind correction and the complex trajectory of the air rifle bullet. The lateral hollow rectangular areas are used to scale the terrain. All components of this reticle have strictly regulated dimensions, the distances between all elements are also regulated. The length of the lower intersections is 0.33, 1, 2,3,4 Mil respectively. This AMX reticle is correct at 10x magnification. For other magnifications, the linear and angular dimensions are determined by interpolation or according to special tables. Also, a free ballistic calculator X-ACT will allow you to personalize the reticle for a specific magnification, weapon and type of projectile.

You can visually evaluate the ease of use of the aiming reticle directly on the manufacturer's website.

A significant advantage is that the grid is engraved on a glass plate. This provides almost 100% protection of the grid from the destructive effect of multi-vector recoil of spring-piston pneumatics. In addition, all elements of the grid are thin enough and do not block the target.
