Description

The new Hawke Vantage IR series of optical sights is now even more resistant to powerful recoil and is recommended for installation on firearms and air rifles of any caliber. The Hawke Vantage IR 4-12x50 AO (Mil Dot IR R/G) sight has a monolithic body made of aircraft aluminum, an engraved reticle with red and green illumination, parallax adjustment on the lens, a fast focusing system and a very smooth and precise mechanism for changing the magnification. Each optical surface has eleven layers of anti-reflective coating to transmit high-quality images. Hawke Vantage IR is a new standard of quality in its price category.

The main characteristic of any sight is the quality of optics. Hawke Vantage IR sights are optical devices with high quality optics. All optical surfaces (achromatic objective, eyepiece and reversing system) are covered with 11 layers of anti-reflective coating, which greatly reduces light loss during reflection and provides high resolution of the target image.

The shockproof body is made of lightweight and durable aluminum alloy. Both the outside and the inside of the body are covered with a matte black coating using anodizing, which does not wear off, does not scratch and provides excellent performance characteristics. All moving parts of the body have a profiled knurling, due to which adjusting the sight even in thick winter gloves will not be a problem.

The body is sealed, protected from water ingress and filled with dry nitrogen to prevent fogging of the optics from the inside due to temperature changes.

Parallax adjustment is performed by a wide ring on the objective in the range from 9 meters to infinity. The objective is spring-loaded by a powerful spring, which is a mechanism for compensating for recoil. For quick focusing on the target, a Fast Focus focusing system is provided on the eyepiece.

Low-profile vertical and horizontal adjustment drums are equipped with a special beryllium spring, preventing the aiming reticle from "drifting". The drums have a click value of 0.25 MOA. They are hidden under low aluminum covers. Next to the adjustment drums there is a rheostat for adjusting the brightness and switching the color of the aiming mark illumination.

Mil Dot is one of the most universal aiming reticles, all components of this reticle have strictly regulated dimensions, the distances between all elements are also regulated. Thanks to this, it is not a problem to determine the distance to the target, taking the correct wind correction and determining the trajectory of the bullet's flight and fall. This Mil Dot is correct at 10x magnification. For other magnifications, the linear and angular dimensions are determined by interpolation or special tables. A free ballistic calculator will allow you to customize the reticle for a specific weapon and type of projectile.

You can visually evaluate the ease of use of the aiming reticle directly on the manufacturer's website.

A significant advantage is that the grid is engraved on a glass plate. This provides almost 100% protection of the grid from the destructive effect of the multi-vector recoil of spring-piston pneumatics.

An important point is the presence of a two-color illumination of the aiming grid. The red illumination is brighter and is more convenient to use in the daytime and evening. At night, the green color, which is less irritating to the eyes, provides clear contours of the aiming mark and does not illuminate the plane of observation. Each of the colors has 5 degrees of brightness.
