In addition, it is necessary to note the possibility of using this telescope for astronomical photography. There is a screw on the mounting clamp of the tube, on which almost any camera equipped with a standard tripod mount can be installed. In this way, you can get wide-angle shots of star fields, the Milky Way, the brightest galaxies and nebulae. In addition, the 2-inch focusing device of the telescope has a travel scale and is equipped with a T-adapter, allowing you to use the telescope as a large lens for a SLR camera, devoid of chromatic aberration that distorts color rendition. The EXOS-2 GOTO mount, which is supplied with the Bresser Messier NT-203 telescope, is equipped with motors on both axes, which provide 9 different tracking speeds in the range from a single stellar speed for tracking the daily motion of luminaries to 4.5º per second for pointing at an object. The object is selected and the telescope is controlled using the Autostar #497 computer controller, made in the form of a hand-held remote control with buttons and a display. The mount is powered by 8 1.5 V type "D" batteries, which are installed in a suspended battery block or, using a separately purchased cable, from any source of constant voltage of 12 V, including from the on-board network of a car. For precise orientation of the polar axis, the mount is equipped with a pole finder with a backlit grid and handles for smooth adjustment of azimuth and axis height. The steel tripod has a telescopic design, and its height can be adjusted taking into account the height of the observer. An additional element that adds rigidity to the tripod is a practical shelf for placing 1.25'' and 2'' eyepieces on it. The mount is rigid and can withstand a weight of up to 13 kg.
The Autostar #497 autoguider stores information on more than 30,000 astronomical objects: planets, galaxies, nebulae, stars. If you have difficulty finding an object of interest through the finder, simply select it in the computer system, and the mount will do everything itself: calculate the location of the object and direct the telescope with maximum accuracy.
Also included in the delivery set is a colorful moving star chart for studying the sky and preparing for observations.
