LEDs provide illumination of the specimen with transmitted and reflected light. Transmitted light is used for observing transparent objects, while reflected light is used for opaque three-dimensional objects. Using two lamps simultaneously can be useful for observing translucent specimens. The brightness of the illumination, color rendering, and directionality of the light beam are controlled by a diaphragm with different aperture diameters and five light filters.
Additional features are provided by the Bresser HD camera , which comes complete with software. With its help, you can observe everything that happens under the microscope lens on your personal computer monitor in real time, and you can also create and edit photos with a resolution of 1280x720 in JPEG format. System requirements are low: Intel Pentium IV or equivalent and higher; CD or DVD, Windows 8, 10, 7 operating system, 1 GB RAM, 2 GHz processor, and 500 MB of hard disk space.
The microscope is powered by three common AA (LR6) batteries. Thus, the microscope is independent of the AC mains and can be used even in the field.
