Description


The BRESSER Messier 12" Dobson telescope is a powerful Newtonian mirror reflector on an azimuthal Dobsonian mount with a 305 mm main parabolic mirror, designed for visual observations of the night sky and the Sun. The large light-gathering aperture takes the user far beyond the Moon and planets: the telescope shows globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies with brightness and detail that are not available with smaller instruments. The device is aimed at experienced amateurs and visual enthusiasts, but thanks to its intuitive operation it will also suit a beginner who wants to get serious results right away. The first key feature is the ultra-light fiberglass tube, which makes such a large instrument truly transportable and convenient to carry. The second is the professional 2.5" HEXAFOC focuser with 2" and 1.25" mounting diameters, which does not create noticeable shielding even with massive wide-angle glasses and remains rigid under the weight of heavy accessories. The third is a rockerbox on metal furniture ties, which in a few minutes disassembles into a flat compact package for storage and transport. The kit already has everything to start: a 6x30 finderscope, a 25 mm eyepiece and an aperture solar filter for safe observation of spots, eclipses and planetary transits. This is a versatile telescope that sets a new standard for performance, convenience and price/quality ratio in its class.

Bresser was founded in 1957 by Josef Bresser in Rhede (Germany), and today it is one of the leading European manufacturers of optical instruments. What space objects can be observed with this telescope:

Sun (only with the aperture filter included in the kit, observation in white light):
Sunspots - individual spots with a dark core (umbra) and a gray penumbra, entire groups of spots and their noticeable change from day to day. Flares - brighter fibrous areas of the photosphere near the spots, best visible closer to the edge of the disk. Granulation - a granular "cellular" surface structure in a fairly calm atmosphere. Darkening towards the edge of the disk - a gradual fading of brightness from the center to the limb. Transits of Mercury and Venus across the disk of the Sun. Partial and annular phases of solar eclipses.

Month:
Large craters with central hills - Tycho, Copernicus, Clavius, Plato with a dark flat bottom. Lunar seas - Sea of Tranquility, Sea of Rain, Ocean of Storms. Mountain ranges and valleys - Apennines, Caucasus, spectacular straight Alpine valley, cutting through the mountains. Terminator - the line of day and night with a distinct play of shadows, where the relief appears most prominently. Ray systems around young craters, diverging for hundreds of kilometers. Thin furrows (rilles) and wrinkled ridges on the seabed, visible precisely due to the large aperture. Individual hills, terraces on the walls of craters and small craters with a diameter of several kilometers.

Planets:
Jupiter - several cloud belts and zones, the Great Red Spot, festoons and curls at the boundaries of the belts, the four Galilean moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto), their mutual eclipses and shadows passing through the planet's disk. Saturn - rings, Cassini's clear division between rings A and B, the planet's shadow on the rings, stripes ...
