Start/Overload Relay ПЗР-00-4.8 (0.9A / 250V) for Nord Domestic Refrigerators

The ПЗР-00-4.8 type start/overload relay with a rated current of 0.9 A and a voltage of 250 V is designed to ensure the starting of the auxiliary (start) winding of a single-phase asynchronous compressor motor, as well as to provide automatic protection against current overload and overheating. The part is housed in a compact plastic casing measuring 35x34x19 mm and is equipped with 3 terminal connectors 4.8 mm wide.

Main Functions and Features:

• Safe Start: Provides a short-term power supply to the start winding at the moment of compressor startup.
• Thermal and Current Protection: The built-in bimetallic mechanism breaks the power circuit in case of rotor jamming, voltage surges, or excessive winding heat.

Symptoms of a Faulty Start Relay:

• The compressor attempts to start (a click is heard), runs for a few seconds while humming, and then shuts off with the click of the protection plate.
• The refrigerator motor does not react at all and makes no sound when plugged into the network.
• The refrigerator compartment does not get cold, while the compressor remains cold or constantly overheats.

Technician's Tip: Before replacing the start relay, be sure to test the compressor windings with a multimeter (both run and start windings) for short circuits or insulation breakdown to the casing. If the compressor is damaged, installing a new relay will not solve the problem and may lead to the new part failing as well.
