Technician's Tip: Before the first full use, turn on the new hot plate at medium power for 10–15 minutes without cookware to burn off the factory protective lubricant (this process may be accompanied by light smoke). To extend the life of the cast iron surface, avoid getting cold water on the hot disk and wipe up spilled liquids after it has cooled down.
