This is one of the most critical transmission components for activator-type household appliances (brands such as Saturn, Delfa, Digital, Liberton, Nord, Rotex, etc.). The gearbox is designed to transfer torque from the electric motor to the activator (impeller) of the washing tub, ensuring optimal rotation speed and the necessary force for high-quality laundry washing.

Operating Principle of the Planetary Gearbox:

Unlike simple single-stage transmissions, semi-automatic washing machines use a planetary gear system, which operates as follows:

• Rotation Transmission: The motor rotates the large gearbox pulley located at its bottom via a belt drive. This pulley is rigidly connected to the sun gear inside the housing.
• Speed Reduction and Torque Increase: Inside the sealed housing, several auxiliary (planetary) satellite gears, held together by a carrier, rotate around the central gear. This design effectively reduces high motor RPM to the optimal activator rotation speed (approximately 4–5 times), while proportionally increasing torque (rotational power).
• Activator Rotation: The gearbox output shaft, connected to the satellite carrier, drives the activator in the washing machine tub. Thanks to the planetary mechanism, the activator easily handles the resistance of water and heavy wet laundry without overloading the electric motor.
