Rubber centrifuge diaphragm (oil seal-gasket) with an integrated copper-bronze bushing is designed for installation at the bottom of the spin tub in twin-tub semi-automatic washing machines. It acts as a flexible seal: protecting the centrifuge motor from water ingress from the tub while simultaneously dampening the runout and vibrations of the drive basket shaft during high spin speeds.
Operating Principle and Design:
The centrifuge basket shaft passes through the internal copper-bronze bushing of the diaphragm. When the shaft rotates at high speeds (up to 1300 rpm), the elastic rubber bellows compensates for the imbalance and oscillations of the laundry in the centrifuge, maintaining the unit's seal. The integrated oil seal with a bronze-graphite bushing prevents water from leaking directly onto the lower part of the washing machine and the spin motor.

Technician's Tip: When replacing a worn diaphragm, always thoroughly clean the basket shaft of rust and deposits. Apply a small amount of water-resistant silicone grease to the inside of the bronze bushing — this will prevent squeaking during the first starts and extend the life of the seal.
