Description

The Bresser Messier AR102xs EXOS-2 PMC-Eight Goto telescope (4742460) is an ideal choice for both beginners and experienced amateur astronomers. Thanks to its high-quality optics and automatic guidance system, it will allow you to explore a variety of space objects - from the planets of the Solar System to distant galaxies. Thanks to the short focus and high aperture, discover the brightest objects, such as the Orion Nebula at an incredible distance of 1500 light years.

Telescope

Due to the short focus and high aperture, this model will be very interesting for observing extended objects of weaker luminosity, as well as for so-called starry sky excursions. The telescope lenses are made of special ED glass, which provides exceptionally high image quality with minimal chromatic aberration. This is what allows you to obtain bright and clear images of the observed objects with correct color rendition, both during visual observations and during astrophotography. The objective lens has an improved multilayer coating, which helps to increase the brightness and contrast of the image. The optical tube includes: an optical viewfinder, a diagonal mirror, a long-focus eyepiece SuperPlossl SPL 26 mm, with which an 18x magnification is achieved. The maximum useful magnification of 204x is achieved by replacing the eyepiece with another one (not included). You can also explore the sky during the day, using a solar filter to observe sunspots and eclipses. (Warning: never point a telescope at the Sun without a solar filter).

Mounting

The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and highly accurate control system with a stand-alone dual-channel 8-core multiprocessor and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP function. The control system is a robust unit with connectors and a Wi-Fi antenna, attached to a tripod using a Velcro strap. NEMA-11 motors are connected directly to this unit using a cable, and also support the ST-4 autoguide interface. The control system supports microstepping to ensure precise tracking of objects. The belt drive system uses two-tooth pulleys with a fiberglass-reinforced neoprene belt.

The system is controlled via the specially developed ExploreStars OpenGoto® Software application for the PMC-Eight system. This application is supported on Windows, Android and IOS operating systems. It impresses with its intuitive and visually attractive interface. Alignment stars are available for initializing control. The program includes a database of over 70,000 stars, the Messier catalog and objects of the Solar System. These objects are displayed as a starry sky map with additional text information, they are convenient to view and select for aiming the optical tube.

The software interface features a classic four-button layout for control, centering, panning and tilting on the touchscreen of your tablet or smartphone. Extensive menus offer an intuitive alignment procedure, selection of different catalogs, tours, a sync button, "park" position, search function and a coordinate entry screen for RA and DEC information. A digital menu allows you to select and enter the speed for panning, centering and aiming.

The powerful control unit allows remote curation via browser, ASCOM - compatible software using the built-in wireless driver. This software is different in that you can write your own code and import. Create a Messier task or a list of objects you want to...
