Phase correction is necessary exclusively for the Roof optical system, since, passing through such a prism, the light flux is decomposed into two parallel beams of light waves, an out-of-phase shift of half the light wavelength occurs, which leads to a decrease in image resolution, as well as a decrease in contrast. Phase Correction corrects this displacement. As a result, the image is as clear and contrasty as possible. The cost of such a coating is very high, and the application process requires precision accuracy, so only well-known optics manufacturers can afford such a technological complication. - BAK4 Barium crown is a special type of optical glass used to make prisms in optical instruments. This material has a lower dispersion coefficient (light scattering) than the glass used for budget models.
