Lenses made of HD (High Density) and extra-low dispersion glass provide improved color rendition and high image resolution. Phase Correction A special phase-correcting coating that is applied to one of the surfaces of the prism rotating system in the form of the thinnest layers. Phase correction is necessary exclusively for the Roof optical system, since, passing through such a prism, the light flux is decomposed into two parallel beams of light waves, an out-of-phase shift of half the light wavelength occurs, which leads to a decrease in image resolution, as well as a decrease in contrast. Phase Correction corrects this displacement. As a result, the image is as clear and contrasty as possible. The cost of such a coating is very high, and the application process requires precision accuracy, so only well-known optics manufacturers can afford such a technological complication. Today, without a phase-correcting coating, the design of a modern high-quality optical device of the Roof prism system is practically unthinkable.
