Description

The Vortex Kaibab HD 18x56 binoculars (KAI-5618) are undoubtedly one of the masterpieces of the optical industry, guaranteeing hunters, athletes and outdoor enthusiasts premium quality. The ultra-durable ArmorTec coating protects the lenses from scratches, oils and dirt. The prisms made of high-quality BAK4 glass with phase correction and dielectric coating contribute to stunning detail. The lightweight ergonomic body of the binoculars is equipped with a protective rubber coating, waterproof and argon-filled, which prevents the optics from fogging up during sudden temperature changes.

Features:

  • Apochromatic optical system APO - an optical design that corrects spherical aberration and chromatic aberration for three or more colors. This optical system is used only by manufacturers in the premium price segment.

  • Lenses made of HD ( High Density ) and extra-low dispersion glass provide improved color rendition and high image resolution. The refractive index of low-dispersion glass depends little on the frequency of light (on the spectrum). All light waves are refracted by the same angle. The use of these glasses in the design of lenses allows you to practically get rid of such an unpleasant aberration as chromatism. The cost of such glass is very high, which is why only manufacturers of high-tech optics use it in their premium products.
  • The patented multi-layer anti-reflective coating of Vortex XR lenses allows for maximum light transmission and image clarity.
  • Dielectric Prism Coatings Dielectric multilayer prism coatings provide the highest reflectance values compared to metallic coatings. This significantly improves light transmission, resulting in a sharp, bright image with the most accurate color.
  • Phase Correction A special phase-correcting coating that is applied to one of the surfaces of the prism rotating system in the form of the thinnest layers. Phase correction is necessary exclusively for the Roof optical system, since, passing through such a prism, the light flux is decomposed into two parallel beams of light waves, an out-of-phase shift of half the light wavelength occurs, which leads to a decrease in image resolution, as well as a decrease in contrast. Phase Correction corrects this displacement. As a result, the image is as clear and contrasty as possible. The cost of such a coating is very high, and the application process requires precision accuracy, so only well-known optics manufacturers can afford such a technological complication. Today, without a phase-correcting coating, the design of a modern high-quality optical device of the Roof prism system is practically unthinkable.
  • Waterproof - means that the optics are sealed with an O-ring and are protected from moisture penetration according to the international class IPX7. Immersion in liquid for 30 minutes to a depth of 1 meter will not cause the device the slightest damage and will not affect its functionality. No weather conditions are scary for such optics.
  • Fogproof means that the housing is filled with an inert gas from the inside, which eliminates the condensation of moisture on the internal surfaces during temperature changes. As a result, the optics will not fog up from the inside, and there will be no corrosion of materials under the influence of moisture. The air is removed from the device and replaced with an inert gas (in this case, argon), which does not contain water vapor and does not condense.
