Description

BRESSER Messier MCX-102 GoTo EQ/AZ is a compact and versatile Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with computer-controlled GoTo, designed for both nighttime astronomical observations and safe observation of the Sun. With an aperture of 102 mm and a focal length of 1470 mm, the telescope provides a clear and detailed image of the Moon, planets, galaxies and nebulae. Fully multi-coated FMC optics guarantee maximum light transmission and image contrast even at high magnifications. The GoTo system with a database of over 100,000 objects automatically points the telescope to any celestial body in a matter of seconds, making the instrument convenient for both beginners and experienced amateurs. The dual-function mount allows you to work in azimuthal and equatorial modes, opening up opportunities for basic astrophotography of the Moon and planets. A high-quality aluminum fork mount with precision worm gears and ball bearings ensures smooth and accurate aiming. The telescope comes complete with an eyepiece, solar filter and smartphone holder, allowing you to start observing right out of the box.

What space objects can be observed with this telescope:

Sun (with objective solar filter included) - sunspots, flares, photosphere granulation

Moon - craters, mountains, seas, valleys, surface details up to several kilometers;

Planets of the Solar System: Jupiter - cloud belts, Great Red Spot, four Galilean moons; Saturn - rings of the planet, Cassini division, moon Titan; Mars - polar caps, large dark surface details; Venus - phases of the planet; Mercury - phases of the planet; Uranus - disk of the planet, blue-green hue; Neptune - disk of the planet

Deep Sky Objects: Orion Nebula (M42) - a bright diffuse nebula with the Trapezium star cluster; Andromeda Galaxy (M31) - the closest spiral galaxy to us; Hercules Globular Cluster (M13) - one of the brightest globular clusters; Dumbbell Nebula (M27) - a planetary nebula in the constellation of Vulpes; Ring Nebula (M57) - a planetary nebula in the constellation of Lyra; Pleiades Open Cluster (M45) - a bright star cluster; Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) - a spiral galaxy with a companion; Lagoon Nebula (M8) - a large emission nebula in Sagittarius; Beehive Cluster (M44) - an open star cluster in Cancer

Design features

  • The Maksutov-Cassegrain (MCX) optical system is a catadioptric optical scheme that combines a Maksutov lens corrector with a Cassegrain mirror system. This design allows for a long focal length of 1470 mm in a compact body, making the telescope easy to transport and store. The system provides minimal aberrations and a sharp image across the entire field of view. It is an ideal choice for observing planets and the Moon, as well as for basic planetary astrophotography.
